Chance is looking for a forever home! He spent quite a few months at the west side city shelter and really started to deteriorate mentally. Luckily he landed himself in a foster home.

Dogs: Chance has tested well with dogs by our volunteers and the shelter staff. He is currently being house with 2 smaller females and a super elderly large breed male dog. Chance also attends a small doggy daycare occasionally and does well with the dogs! When Chance is overstimulated by a new environment or new dogs, he tends to hump, especially if the dog doesn’t correct him. Once he’s settled in a home or place, we have seen Chance lessen that behavior. He would be fine in a home with some doggy playmates or as an only dog. His foster family has witnessed Chance convince his SUPER old and arthritic foster brother to play!!! Sometimes his foster brother falls down because he can’t stand super well… and we are convinced Chance purposefully uses a toy to pull him up off of the ground to help. Service dog material??🥰

Cats: Chance is currently housed with 2 cats and does fine. At doggy daycare, he interacts with quite a few mean and nice kittens and adult cats. Chance definitely prefers cats that are nice to him. But he listens to their corrections when he’s given one. Chance would do fine in a home with cats.

Kids: currently being fostered with 2 young children, he loves them! Chance is very very amazing with kiddos🫶🏻 He will need help with maintaining good manners with small kiddos as he is a young and “dumb” boy dog 😉

Crate: Chance has been phenomenal in his crate so far.

Personality: Chance was stuck in his kennel for far too long, and it was affecting his mental health. He’s full of energy, excitement, and potential—but he needs a home with people who will give him love and time to settle! Chance is the BIGGEST cuddle bug and such a ham. He loves to love… and he loves any and all humans. We haven’t seen any stranger danger. With patience, structure, and love, we believe he can be the best and most handsome ( 😉 ) companion!
