Scarlett is a sweet and affectionate girl who thrives on love and attention. She’s always happy to snuggle up next to you. And by always… we mean ALWAYS! This girl is QUEEN of clingy!!!! She will NEVER miss out on an opportunity to snuggle. She’s petite and has a long body! Scarlett could even do well in an apartment! With her adorable droopy eyes and spotted/gorgeous markings… she’s sure to melt your heart.
Dogs: Scarlett is dog-friendly! She was living with another another female dog who tends to be pickier about her dog friends and she was doing fine. Scarlett wanted to play a lot more than the other dog wanted to and so Scarlett moved foster homes and is currently not living with other dogs. When first rescued, she was temporarily placed with a foster who had multiple dogs, and she adjusted beautifully—keeping to herself but enjoying playtime and even cuddling with her furry friends which included a smaller breed male, a small intact female puppy, a large male, and a female her size. Whether as the only pet or in a multi-dog household, Scarlett will thrive with the right match. Scarlett attended a 7 week board and train to help with her reactivity on walks that has helped introduce her to other dogs. Bonus? She has a lot of training under her belt now! In her board and train program, Scarlett loves playing with the trainer's male dogs and puppies. So while she would certainly love a dog friend, she also doesn't need one!
Cats: we recommend a kitty free home.
Kids: Scarlett is kid-friendly and has been great when meeting children, including those as young as 6 and 8. She may need a little guidance on manners around younger kids but is overall a loving and kind companion. She is currently fostered with 2 young boy kiddos!
Crate: Scarlett is crate-trained and does great. She lets out a few whines, but settles! She is crated at night and while her foster humans are gone.
Energy Level: Scarlett loves to play and walk, but is just as happy to curl up for a nap after a good zoomie session. She’s the perfect mix of energetic and laid-back, making her an excellent companion for a variety of lifestyles.
Other: Scarlett has a massive scar down her back that makes us think she was an outside dog. No one knows where this scar is from, but it can be assumed it may be from flea/tick meds burning/allergic reaction or a sunburn, or chemical burns, or who knows! She was also heartworm positive while she was in the shelter which also makes us think she was an outside dog. She is now HW-. Scarlett’s bark also seems strained at time which may indicate she was an outside dog/chained. Being chained or barking a lot may have strained her throat! Scarlett also has the CRAZIEST and most intense overbite we have EVER seen🤭🤭🤭 all of these things make Scarlett, Scarlett. And makes her extra special!
Scarlett is a human loving pup who’s ready to start finding her forever home… it would actually be preferred if Scarlett can go from her board and train into a forever home so that the skills she learns are fresh and Ray (trainer) can teach her forever humans fresh after her time with him. Scarlett’s previous foster humans have a “dog couch” that dogs are allowed on and a couch that dogs aren’t allowed on. She is learning the difference and doing okay… but this girl would LOVE a home where she can snuggle on the couch and/or bed with her humans if possible 😉 we can’t even begin describe the expert level of cuddler she is! But equally smart and willing to learn if you aren’t a dogs on furniture family! She would be a wonderful addition to most families. Whether you’re looking for an adventure buddy or a couch companion, Scarlett is the perfect fit.
