Every rescue cat has a story — and Hamlett’s might just be the unluckiest lucky story there is. 🍀

Hamlett is an absolute love bug. The kind of kitten who melts into your arms, gives headbutts like they’re going out of style, and purrs so loud you’ll swear he’s running a tiny motor. He’s sweet, gentle, and endlessly affectionate — the kind of kitten who just wants to love and be loved.

But somehow, despite being the total package, Hamlett’s had one bizarre streak of bad luck.

After his first (and truly amazing) bio went live, the applications poured in! He was the talk of the rescue. Everyone wanted him — and rightly so! But when he finally went to his first adopter, he was only given 24 hours to settle in before being returned for being a little shy. (Like most cats, Hamlett just needed a bit of time to decompress.)

In the days that followed, all those other interested adopters had already found kittens elsewhere. Then another family fell in love with him — but once they realized he was about 16 weeks and not an 8-week-old baby, they changed their mind. Then another wonderful family started a trial adoption, and it seemed like Hamlett’s happy ending was finally here… until the family’s dog became overly fixated on him, creating too much stress for everyone involved. So back to foster he went. 💔

Now poor Hamlett finds himself in that awkward in-between stage — not quite a tiny kitten, not quite a grown cat — and just waiting for someone to see the amazing, loyal companion he truly is.

Despite all the bouncing around, Hamlett remains sweet and trusting. He can be a little shy at first (who wouldn’t be after all that?), but once he knows he’s safe, he turns right back into the affectionate, snuggly cuddle bug his foster family adores.

👧 Kids: Gentle and friendly — just give him a little time to settle in.

Hamlett is truly a victim of a series of unfortunate events — none of which were his fault. He’s just been waiting for his people: the patient, loving family who will finally give him the stability and forever home he deserves. ❤️
