‼️🐶ADOPT ME🐶‼️
Tyson
1 year old
Neutered Male
Fully vetted
Medical Note: Previously tested positive for Lyme disease (but don’t worry – he’s completed treatment and has no active symptoms!)
Tyson is a young male (maybe around 1) who is filled with love and excitement! Hes got that cropped eared look that makes his goofiness even goofier🤣 (“scary” doesn’t match the goof🤣) He’s at that perfect age where he’s got the puppy energy while fine-tuning his manners and obedience.
Tyson was found roaming the streets of Alamogordo and was without a home for an unknown period of time. Some caring people placed food and a camera out, and caught him eating the food for a couple weeks when no one was around. Eventually he was taken in, where he lived with another dog and kids, and reportedly did well.
Tyson is crate trained and potty trained. When he needs to go potty, he barks to let his fosters know he needs out. He sleeps in his crate and through the night like a champ!
🐶Dogs: Tyson has done well with other dogs – both male and female, and even some small breeds. He enjoys playing with dog friends, but also knows how to settle and entertain himself.
🐱Cats: Tyson is cat-friendly! He currently lives with a cat foster sister and mostly ignores her. It’s unclear how he’d do with a playful cat, but so far, so good!
👶Kids: Tyson loves humans – big and small! He may need reminders to be gentle with younger kiddos due to his enthusiasm.
As a younger guy, Tyson is still polishing his manners. He’s super food-motivated and has already learned sit, down, shake, place, and "belly" (where he rolls over to offer belly rubs). His foster has been working on his leash manners and he is in a really good spot on leash!
Tyson thrives with enrichment – he loves working on puzzle feeders, sniffing out hidden treats, playing with toys, and especially cuddling. He’s happiest when he has a comfy spot to curl up with his humans – whether it’s a couch, a dog bed, or your lap.
Tyson came to us with some scars from his past – different in shape and stage of healing – but they only make him more lovable. These likely took a little longer to heal because Tyson previously tested positive for Lyme disease. But don’t worry – it’s not contagious to people or pets, he’s completed his antibiotic treatment, and he currently has no symptoms. Most dogs live normal, happy lives after treatment with no major impact on their health or lifespan. His adopter should simply keep an eye out for signs like joint stiffness or lethargy, and keep up with regular vet visits and tick prevention like any responsible pet parent.
Tyson also has some allergies that are well-managed with a specific diet and occasional Cytopoint injections. We’re happy to share what’s been working great for him!
Tyson joined our rescue in December, and his foster family instantly fell in love with this sweet, goofy boy. While they adore him (and always will), his healing journey is complete – and now it’s time for Tyson to find his forever family! When Tyson is “out of his element” he shows that he is much shyer, controlled, and sensitive than when he is in his home and around people he knows. Sometimes Tyson can be shy when meeting new people, especially out in public. But once he knows someone? He will continue to be a bull in a china shop whenever and wherever he sees them. So don’t let his shy demeanor trick you into thinking he’s a mellow guy🤣 this dude knows how to show enthusiasm in most circumstances🤣 it’s a work in progress🤣
